Ray H. O'Neal, Jr.
Ray H. O’Neal, Jr., Ph.D. is an actor and professor of physics and astronomy at Florida A&M University. Recently appearing in the Southern Shakespeare Company production of ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA (Soothsayer, Lepidus, First Guard) directed by James A. Bond and in Theatre Tallahassee’s 2022-2023 season production of William Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST (Prospero) directed by Nathan Williamson, Prof. O’Neal started his acting career in Washington, DC, having appeared in Theatre on a Hill’s production of Arthur Miller’s THE CRUCIBLE (Rev. John Hale) directed by Linell Grundman and having understudied Thomas W. Jones II (Vladimir) and Donald Griffin (Estragon) and appeared as Vladimir in the Studio Theatre production of Samuel Beckett’s WAITING FOR GODOT directed by Joy Zinoman. He has studied various aspects of performance at Stanford University (Palo Alto, California), The Michael Howard Studio (New York City, NY), with Marlene Dubois (Tallahassee, FL) and the Green Room Acting Studio (Boca Raton, FL).
