Gharrett Paon

Gharrett Patrick Paon is an award-winning actor-turned-producer from Nova Scotia. His company, Rebel Road Films, developed and produced Bretten Hannam’s landmark feature, "Wildhood," which premiered at TIFF, screened at AFI Fest, won 18 international awards, and was nominated for Best Picture at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.

Gharrett started in the industry as an actor almost 20 years ago. His performances have been nominated for three ACTRA awards, and in 2021, he portrayed Brandon Keyser in seven episodes of the television series "The Sinner" (USA Network/Netflix).

Gharrett holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and, upon graduating, was selected for the Canadian Film Centre's Producer's Lab (2017). He’s also an alumnus of the National Screen Institute's Features First Program (2019).

In addition to "Wildhood," Rebel Road’s productions include "Wildfire" (Screen Nova Scotia Award - Best Short), "I am Syd Stone" (Telefilm Talent to Watch digital series), and two seasons of "Spirit Talker" (APTN), an Indigenous documentary travel series. In 2022, Rebel Road's slate earned a combined eight Canadian Screen Award nominations. The company has sold projects to Hulu, Films Boutique, Mongrel, Wolfe, Peccadillo Pics, HBO Eastern Europe, Outplay, Salzgeber, Dark Star Pictures, LevelFILM, OutTV, Crave, CBC, APTN, and more.

Gharrett’s credits also include producing "The Mohel" (Ouat Media), which premiered at SXSW (2021), won Best Live-Action Short at Palm Springs Shortfest (2021), and was released online as a Vimeo Staff Pick. He line-produced and production-managed "Hell of a Summer" (30West/Aggregate), a slasher-comedy written and directed by Finn Wolfhard that premiered in TIFF’s Midnight Madness section in 2023. In addition to acting and producing, Gharrett has written and directed multiple episodes of documentary television and produced five hours of wildlife programming for Love Nature.

Gharrett is conversationally bilingual and now lives in Montreal.
